MOONLIT GATHERING
Dancing, Dining and Sunset Swimming
COMMAS Creative Director Richard Jarman reflects on an ephemeral harbourside gathering.
The Arrival
As dusk descended, guests were transported to an undisclosed waterfront destination. We curated an intimate soirée that embodied my creative muses- the sea and day's end.
We hosted an intimate evening that reflected the core of my inspiration: the water.
A Confluence of Creatives
The evening brought together individuals who have played a special part of COMMAS’ journey: John McArthur, whose knitwear techniques have become synonymous with the brand's chunky hand knits; Darren McDonald, who captured COMMAS' inaugural visuals; and Noah Tumataroa, who brought a natural tranquility to our recent campaign.
The Feast
Against a backdrop of lapping waves, an alfresco tableau unfolded on a secluded beach. The menu celebrated simplicity: bistecca Florentina, spanner crab pasta, sun-ripened peach salad, and artisanal bread still warm from the oven coupled with Chandon Étoile. For someone whose life revolves the around the outdoors and dining beneath open skies, this felt quite natural —albeit far more sublime than my usual family gatherings.
The Soundscape
As night embraced the harbor, artist and DJ Carla Uriarte orchestrated a sonic journey of Balearic rhythms and disco revelry, transforming the upper deck into a dance floor suspended between sea and stars.
A Collective Vision
To Chandon, Sea Raes, and our incredible project team (Jamie Heath, Emma Delaney, Tomsen, Dualism Studio, Sam Armstrong and the COMMAS team) —thank you for helping us bring this vision to life. It was truly one to remember forever.
